Step One: Our Artists Review Your Photo
Once you've chosen a collection and style and uploaded your pet's photo, an artist on our team reviews it before any design work begins. They're looking at the same things covered in our photo guidelines: lighting, clarity, angle, and whether your pet's distinguishing features, coat patterns, markings, expression, come through clearly enough to work from. If anything about the photo needs clarifying or a follow-up shot would genuinely improve the result, this is the point where we'll reach out, rather than proceeding with something that might not do your pet justice.
Step Two: You Receive a Digital Proof
Within approximately three business days, you'll receive an email with a link to your portrait's proof, a digital preview of the finished design before anything is printed. This is the point where the composition, styling, and likeness are all visible for the first time, and it's your opportunity to see whether the piece feels right before it becomes a physical object.
Step Three: Requesting Revisions
If something isn't quite right, whether it's a detail in your pet's expression, the positioning, or an element of the styling, you can request changes at this stage. Revisions are unlimited and free, and a real artist makes each adjustment rather than an automated process reprocessing the image. If we don't hear back within three days, we'll move forward with the current design, on the assumption that no news means it's ready to go, though you're always welcome to reach out with feedback whenever it comes to you.
Step Four: Approval, Printing and Shipping
Once you approve the proof, production begins. Most portraits are printed, framed, and packaged within about five business days, then shipped with delivery typically taking 10 to 15 business days worldwide, depending on your location.
